Declan Rice’s representatives will reportedly go out of their way not to do a deal that would see Dec return to Chelsea this summer.
Declan’s dad Sean and his brothers were once Chelsea season ticket holders in the past, but they gave up their tickets after Dec made the first team at West Ham and have followed him since home and away and have turned their backs on Chelsea.
There is said to be bitterness in the Ricce family about the way the West London club discarded the then-teenage Declan.
At a recent London away game, one West Ham supporter struck up a conversation with Dec’s dad Sean in a pub in which he explained his son would not be returning to Chelsea.
He explained that his son wanted Champions League football which Chelsea can’t give him next season, and there remains a sour taste in his mouth about how Chelsea let down his 14-year-old son. He said he was open-minded on which club his son would play for next season and refused to answer questions about Arsenal telling the West Ham supporter and friend of 6foot2 that it won’t be Chelsea.
