Claims by Football Insider that Arsenal are confident of securing the signing of Declan Rice this summer have been dismissed by a club insider.
The insider insists the club is yet to receive a bid or a formal enquiry for their captain and until then it is all paper talk and speculation.
Rice’s father has made it clear that his son wants Champions League football next season so that leaves Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool out of the equation.
West Ham are expecting a bidding war with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United all in the mix, a number of top European clubs such as Real Madrid could also enter the mix.
The Hammers are in no mood to sell their prized asset on the cheap and will want maximum value and agree a free with the highest bidder who ever that might be.
Whether there is a gentleman’s agreement or not with Arsenal is irrelevant as West am hold Rice registration so if he doesn’t agree personal terms with the highest bidder he could end up staying with West Ham.
