Barometer – Brentford Week 26

28 Feb, 2024
written by AD Hammer

The barometer compares the home and away results of this season so far and compare them against the same fixtures last season, keeping a running total of whether we have achieved more or less points for the same games. The barometer then assumes that we will achieve the same results as last season for the remaining games and predicts our final points tally and approximate finishing league position. The fixtures are obviously not identical, so we replace the relegated teams with the promoted teams according to their finishing order; Burnley for Leicester, Sheff Utd for Leeds and Luton for Southampton.

Week 26 Barometer – Brentford

The first win of 2024 against Brentford has finally pushed the barometer forward a little to 48 points, which based on last year’s table would see us finish around 11th. There is still a massive opportunity to change the barometer’s momentum in the next six fixtures as we only secured 3 points in the same games last year. In fact, in the next two fixtures, which are very winnable games, we lost both of the corresponding fixtures last year – Everton (A) and home to Burnley (Leicester) – so we could well see the arrow move into the blue shortly.

Remaining Games

Below is a list of our remaining games and the corresponding scores from last season.
