Barometer – Newcastle Week 30

The barometer compares the home and away results of this season so far and compare them against the same fixtures last season, keeping a running total of whether we have achieved more or less points for the same games. The barometer then assumes that we will achieve the same results as last season for the remaining games and predicts our final points tally and approximate finishing league position. The fixtures are obviously not identical, so we replace the relegated teams with the promoted teams according to their finishing order; Burnley for Leicester, Sheff Utd for Leeds and Luton for Southampton.

Barometer – Newcastle Week 30

After a result that still leaves me speechless at the weekend, the barometer dropped back to predicting 51 points for the season.  Although we still have opportunity to jump forward with more than one point in the next two games against Spurs and Wolves this week. We really need to pick up some points NOW if there is any chance of a European spot through the league, as three of our last four games are against Liverpool (H), Chelsea (A) and Man City (A).

Remaining Games

Below is a list of our remaining games and the corresponding scores from last season.
