Suggestions that Arsenal have opened preliminary talks with West Ham over the summer transfer of Declan Rice have been denied by club insiders.
FootballTransfers.com, quoting sources claimed that Arsenal had taken the initiative in the race for Rice by speaking to the Hammers, who had previously indicated that they would not discuss the player’s future before the season’s end and after the Europa Conference League final.
The report further claims that details such as the transfer fee and the structure of the payments were discussed last week, but that is news to West Ham.
Club insiders continue to insist they have not received any formal or informal inquiries or bids for Declan Rice from any club. Therefore there cannot have been any talks accordingly.
They do fully expect inquiries and bids to come in this summer and are resigned to losing their captain over the summer but want to get thee best possible price.
