David Moyes has bizarrely admitted that Danny Ings looks isolated up front on his own claiming he is just getting to know him.
Speaking to reporters after the game Moyes was asked whether Ings looked too isolated up front to which the manger replied “Yes, but we’re only just getting to know him. He’s someone who probably might need more people around him. We’re not playing at our best and the Nottingham Forest game showed, Danny is a penalty box striker, if we can get the ball more to Danny and give him opportunities, he can score. His record and his history will show that, but we’ve not really been that far up the pitch often enough to sustain pressure which would maybe mean more opportunities are coming. Overall, we’re really pleased with Danny and we’re hoping he nicks us a few goals between now and the end of the season.”
The surprise is Moyes comments that he didn’t know what kind of player he was and that he is mainly a penalty box striker.
It re-enforces that Danny Ings was indeed a panic buy and perhaps a gift not completely of the manager’s choosing and/or he doesn’t know how to get the best of him.
It just goes to prove the point that Moyes hasn’t got a clue about his team.
Taxi for Mr Moyes please.
