Many media outlets are jumping the gun prematurely on the Declan Rice deal being done on Wednesday tonight.
Negotiations on payment structure were ongoing on Wednesday night but delayed due to the time difference as Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke and his money people are all based in the US, many hours behind the UK.
Those negotiations will most likely drag on until Thursday before hopefully being concluded. West Ham would prefer £50m upfront and £50m in 12 months times while Arsenal want to pay £20m upfront and £20m per year for four years.
A compromise will no doubt be reached around the 18 months to two years level.
.The medical can’t be booked until an agreement can be reached together with the added factor that Delclan Rice is still abroad on holiday until the weekend.
Monday seems a reasonable target for him to sign a contract with Arsenal, but many more hoops to jump through to get there.
