Declan Rice’s family, who represent him, will entertain offers from around Europe, including the Premier League and not just one club as suggested by some reports.
Suggestions that a gentleman’s agreement has already been reached with Arsenal are said to be untrue, according to those close to the Rices 6foot2 have been told.
The Rice family have told friends they want Declan to fulfil his dream to win titles and trophies, and he has his heart set on a Champions League club for his next move.
That would appear to discount a move to Chelsea for more than one reason.
Despite the Rice family originally being Chelsea season ticket holders, they still feel bitter about the way a young Declan was released at 14 years old and turned their back on him.
With Chelsea currently eleventh in the Premier League table, West Ham has more chance of competing in Europe next season than their West London rivals.
West Ham will encourage an open competition for their star asset, hoping to sell to the highest bidder this summer.
