Divin contract situation explained

Divin Mubama’s representatives want Premier League first team starter wages for their client which has led to a standoff in negotiations on a new contract.

Essex based Elite management agency has made some outrageous financial demands for their 19-year-old client.

Mubama has made just two appearances totalling 33 minutes this season with 24 minutes plus 4 added minutes against Lincoln and 1 minute plus 4 minutes of added time against FC Freiberg.

Last season he played 177 minutes in six appearances for the West Ham senior team including three Premier League appearances.

He started the Europa Conference League game against FCSB playing the first 77 minutes coming on for the final 35 minutes of the game against Laraca.

In the FA cup he played 12 minutes against Derby with 3 minutes against Arsenal, 32 minutes against Brentford and 18 minutes against Leeds United in the Premier League last term.

West Ham are keen to send Mubama out on loan to a Championship side to cut his teeth in regular first team football but want him to sign a new contract in advance of that.

Should Divin fail to agree new terms it will follow a long list of Academy prospects who have left to pursue their football elsewhere, these include  Benico Baker-Boatey, Harrison Ashby, Manny Longelo, Jamal Baptiste, Sonny Perkins, Bowen Phillips, Amara Nallo, Divine Mukasa, Armstrong Oxoflex, Aji Alese and Pierre Ekwah.
