Hammer blown away by unbelievable support

Hammer Neil Taylor Completed the Southend half marathon yesterday on behalf of Hammersforwork and support.

His target on just giving was initially £1,500; the proceeds will go to Hammers-related charities after just giving fees.

He was blown away that the current total is £11,700, which he describes as Unbelievable!

This means more Hammer’s causes can benefit.

Danny Panrucker and Neil founded ‘Hammers for Work and Support’ in 2020.

Danny and Neil are from Newham and have supported West Ham for over 50 years.

The group was set up to provide support and employment for hammers and their families during covid in East London and beyond.

The group is the only one of its kind that we know of, and we now have over 25,000 members on social media.

The group is extremely busy, and they have five admins helping run the site.

Since 2020 over two hundred hammers have secured employment, and we also encourage hammers businesses to advertise and offer a discount to our members.

They have links to Apprenticeship schemes in Forth Port Tilbury and Berkeley homes, plus Hammers business owners have taken on youngsters to give them a start.

Over the last two seasons, they have paid for and given free tickets that have been donated to our group to youth organisations and single parents.

Over 400 tickets have been donated to date.

They still support numerous charities and individuals in Newham and beyond and try to help any Hammers that need support.

Some of the organisations they help are Newham ability group, New city road foodbank, Newham boxing club, Dagenham Boxing Club, Lolas Homeless Homeless veterans association, One love project and Bobbys big Heart Footstepz football academy.

They say could not function without the help and support of which Neil considers the best fans in the land; the generosity and the support are humbling.

All  support and help on the page is free; they have a Mental health advocate and CV writing support as they always try to help and are extremely proud of how the group has grown.

If any hammers need a job, help or support, they can join the FB group. at https://www.facebook.com/groups/hammersforworkandsupport/
