The 2023 Hammer of the year is a forgone conclusion with Declan Rice is the easy winner this season.

In a snap 6foot2 poll this morning  Rice received over 71.5% of the votes of nearly 2000 supporters.

Said Benrhama looks to be runner up this season with nearly 21.5% of the vote while Lucas Paqueta is ranked third with over 5.5%

Others account for just 1.3% which include Michail Antonio, Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Divin Mubama.

Rice has been runner up twice in 2018 and 2019 but has won Hammer of the year twice in 2020 and 2022

A win in 2023 will give him a hat trick of Hammer of the year awards and likely to be his farewell gift as he is odds on to leave West Ham this summer.

Other three time Hammer of the year recipients include Scott Parker, Geoff Hurst, Bobby Moore, Billy Bonds, Alvin Martin, Trevor Brooking and Julian Dicks so he will be in good company.
