West Ham has asked Manchester United for medical and injury records of Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, often seen as a common precursor to agreeing a transfer deal.
Alan Nixon, who works for The Sun newspaper said on his Patreon that West Ham are closer than ever to signing both McTominay and Maguire.
Mctominay has been heavily linked with the Hammers but were quoted a £45m price tag which made them think twice while Manchester United have already rejected a £20m bid for Maguire from West Ham.
The new report has rather generously called this process ‘long distance medicals’ for the pair but this is part of an early process and regarded as standard due diligence.
Whether the record-sharing process results in new bids being made is yet to be confirmed but will at least give the West Ham recruitment department more information to make a decision. They are thought to be a number of options being considered at the moment.
