West Ham are set to finally sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton for £30million (£27m transfer fee plus £3m of add-ons)
Both parties are hopeful of completing a deal by the weekend, meaning Saturday’s Championship clash with Norwich at the weekend could be Ward-Prowse’s last in red and white if he is risked.
It appears Southampton have come to realisation that West Ham are the only club in for him and £30m was a fair offer for the 28-year-old set piece specialist.
Ward-Prowse has made a club-record 343 Premier League appearances for the St Mary’s side, scoring 49 goals, but was unable to help stave off relegation last campaign.
Ward-Prowse is said to be a big character in dressing room, tops squad fitness charts, natural leader acting as the conduit between staff/players.
Southampton fans are already upset on social media on the news which goes a long way to just how much they respect him.
