West Ham has a strong interest in signing Manchester City attacking midfielder Cole Palmer this summer 6foot2 have been told.
Palmer is a left-footed attacker who prefers to operate on the right side of the pitch, his profile naturally striking resemblance to teammate Riyad Mahrez. Guardiola has trusted Palmer on the right wing, in midfield and spearheading the forward line. For Lee Carsley’s England under-21s, he has been best utilised on the right wing.
Despite a foot injury preventing him from impacting the second half of the season, 2021/22 season Palmer has been given several first-team appearances this season. The 20-year-old made 11 Premier League appearances this season for City, 4 Champions League appearances and played in six domestic cup games.
West Ham isn’t alone in scouting and admiring the 20-year-old who rose from the Manchester City Academy who he joined aged 8, with Leeds United also showing an interest.
The Hammers won’t find it easy to sign Palmer this summer, with Pep Guardiola a big fan of the attacking midfielder, who he believes could one day replace Kevin de Bruyne in the city lineup.
