West Ham have had a second bid Fulham’s Joao Palhinha turned down, but the Hammers are hoping the West London club has a change of heart.
A first offer of E40m plus £5m was rejected last week and now it appears a £50m bid will also be rejected.
The Hammers have made it clear that they will not pay a penny more than £50m, and this is a take-it-or-leave-it offer.
Reports suggest the West London club wants as much as £80m.
Fulham are determined to hold onto Joao Palhinha this summer, with club chief Tony Khan rubbishing rumours that the star midfielder has a release clause in his contract.
Palhinha joined Fulham in a £ 20 million transfer from Sporting back in July last year
The 27-year-old was one of the most consistent players in the Premier League last season, finishing way clear at the top of the tackle count in the top flight and making 40 appearances in all competitions for Fulham.
