Carlos Borges has yet to sign his West Ham contract to become the Hammers second signing of the summer. The deal is close but not quite done with a source close the club telling 6foot2, ‘it’s done when it’s done’ and multiple media outlets jump the gun suggesting the announcement is imminent.
West Ham are believed to offering up to £14m for the 19-year-old who scored 21 goals and 11 assists in the Premier League 2.
City are reported to have inserted a £40m buy back clause into the deal but 6foot2 are trying to confirm this claim.
The Manchester City youngster is reported to earn just £3,500 per week up north leaving room for a structured pay deal which will greatly reward him if he plays for the senior team or even makes the bench.
If Borges is announced soon he will technically the second signing of the season after the Hammers announced the capture of Sean Moore from NIFL Premiership side Cliftonville on the first day of the summer transfer window.
2nd signing – pushin that old chestnut again I see.
I’ll wait to comment until after the transfer window closes but it ain’t looking good.
