Reports that West Ham shareholder Daniel Kretinsky is to be interested in buying the London Stadium have been further discredited by an article by the Athletic.
The Athletic claim Kretinsky’s press office failed to respond to a request for a comment on his possible interest in the London Stadium while the LLDC press office responded to the Athletic saying: “Nothing has ever been put forward that can be considered.”
Reports of secret meetings between Daniel Kretinksy and the LLDC or London Stadium executives have yet to be substantiated, with 6foot2 putting in a freedom of information request for any emails, meetings and/or communications between the two parties. The response to that query is expected next week.
West Ham insiders continue to insist no such meetings have ever taken place, with Kretinksy reportedly insisting privately to club colleagues that he rebuffed an unsolicited approach by the London Stadium owners.
With losses by the stadium operator and owners reported recently, it would make little financial sense unless government subsidies were involved.
