Manchester United agree transfer fee with West Ham

Manchester United are said to have agreed a £30m fee with West Ham for Harry Maguire as reported by Laurie Whitwell at the Athletic this morning.

The report claims personal terms not expected to be an issue. Maguire had wanted to stay at Manchester United but chance of regular games, given England status, has proved compelling.

Another source says Hary Macguire is thinking about it before making a final decision, but the deal has a real possibility of completing now.

How West Ham would match his £170,000 per week wages is a big question so no-one in the current West Ham squad comes close to that figure.

That is a suggestion that Manchester United could pay him a bonus in lieu of his wages.

If the report is confirmed it has been busy morning for West Ham with Edon Alavrez expected to sign in the next 24 hours after passing his medical and news that a deal to sign James Ward Prowse has also been agreed with Southampton.

  1. He would be a good addition for us for sure. He is reasonably solid and a leader. This transfer window is following the same pattern as the last. Moyes focusing on defensive players first. Hopefully some dynamic attacking speed merchants can be added too.
