Lucas Paqueta has failed to respond to an invitation to participate in the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) of Manipulation in Football according to a report from Brazil.
It says Paquetá or his lawyer will be required to present himself to the committee after members approved his summons next Monday night by a video call.
The West Ham midfielder is being investigated for involvement with a suspicious sports betting anomaly along with fellow Brazilian Luiz Henrique, striker of Bétis, Spain.
Henrique responded to the committee invitation and is likely to be interviewed by videocall next week, because he is on holiday.
During Monday’s session, the CPI of Manipulation of results also approved the invitation to the president of CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, the director of competitions of the entity, Júlio Avellar, and the director of integrity Rômulo Reis. The committee will await their response and if they fail to respond the same procedure will be adopted as Paquetá and the invitation will be turned into a summons.
