Spurs – Predictions, Injury News & Preview

Spurs are up next, making the short trip to the London Stadium for another one of their Cup Finals.  They are arguably our biggest rivalry these days, so hopefully the home crowd and players will be up for it and ready to shake off that debacle at Newcastle on Saturday. We need the win badly, as if the four teams below us won their games in hand, we would drop down to 11th.

Our Predictions

ADHammer : 2-2 draw
Doddsy: 2-0 to West Ham
Nigel: 3-2 to West Ham

Pundit Predictions

Paul Merson: 2-1 to West Ham
Chris Sutton:
3-2 to Spurs

Opta Stats Probability

Spurs win 40.1%
Draw 27.6%
West Ham win 32.3%

Odds (SkyBet)

Spurs win Evens
Draw 3/1
West Ham win 2/1

Doddy’s Preview

Mr home and away – Doddsy – gives his pregame thoughts.

Injury & Squad News

Spurs:
Sessegnon, Solomon and Forster are all still injured, otherwise no major concerns.

West Ham:
Alvarez is suspended for this one, before returning at the weekend.  Areola could be out for ‘a little bit’, although there’s nothing definitive on whether he has recovered from the issue that led to his half-time substitution Saturday. Aguerd is expected to have a late fitness test and is rated as a 75% chance of being available.

Premier Form

Spurs: L-W-W-L-W
Spurs scraped past Luton with a late winner at the weekend, after trailing for much of the game. While positioned well in the league, they can be hit and miss, losing to Fulham 3-0 and beating Villa 4-0 away in their two games prior to the weekend.

West Ham: W-W-D-D-L
I still can’t bring myself to think about Saturday’s loss, so will move on.

Previous 6 Premier League Meetings At London Stadium

Aug 22: West Ham 1 Spurs 1
Oct 21: West Ham 1 Spurs 0
Feb 21: West Ham 2 Spurs 1
Nov 19: West Ham 2 Spurs 3
Oct 18: West Ham 0 Spurs 1
Sep 17: West Ham 2 Spurs 3

What Results Do For West Ham

Win: A win takes us to within a point of Man United in sixth, who play Chelsea away on Thursday.
Draw: A draw means Newcastle could pass us if they beat Everton (H) tonight, and so could Brighton who are away to Brentford tomorrow.
Lose:  A loss could see us drop to 10th by Wednesday. That’s only if Newcastle win or draw and both Brighton and Wolves win, the latter are away to Burnley tomorrow.
