Hammer Vladimir Coufal had quietly agreed an one year extension to his existing West Ham contract this time last year meaning he is still contracted to June 2024 and is not out of contract thus June as previously thought. The Hammers still hold another option for a year which could extend his stay until June 2025.
A senior club source revealed to ClaretandHugh “His (Coufal’s) contract expires next summer and we have a one year option. We extended from his original contract a year ago and he has been playing very well.”
The news comes after the club had already extended the contract of Aaron Cresswell for another year by exercising a one year option.
The club are also highly likely to offer short 12 month extensions to both Fabianski and Angelo Ogbonna but not until after the Europa Conference League final.
The club believe it is important to retain experience and not go through a summer of too much change again this summer.
