Team news ahead of Manchester United clash

Declan Rice, Nayef Aguerd and Tomas Soucek are all expected to return to return to the team after missing the mid-week game against City through illness.

On Friday, David Moyes all three had trained so he had a chance to assess them. They’ve done a little bit of training, so I’m hoping that they will all be available for the weekend he told reporters.

The manager also revealed he has a couple of other people who have been sick in the past week. Another player was sent home this morning and we’ve got another one who just said he didn’t feel so good. We’ve just got to hope that we can contain it. One of those players is understood to be Maxwell Cornet.

Moyes says he doesn’t know the source of the sickness outbreak, adding I don’t know if it’s just something we’ve picked up but it looks as if it’s just sickness. The players are getting over it pretty quickly.

Asked about Kurt Zouma’s injury he told the media in the pre-match press conference  “No, we’re not going to give a sort of timeline on Kurt because we know he is a boy who does improve very quickly, but he’s also got an ankle injury, so we’ve not really got a date for it.”

Zouma has been telling friends he hopes to be back in weeks and is determined to play again before the end of the season.
