A West Ham fan who suffered a road accident remains in a critical condition and stranded in Cyprus a week after the incident with his family desperate to crowd fund £100,000 to bring him home and treat him.
Joey is currently in a coma in a Cypriot hospital after suffering multiple skull fractures and both bleeding and swelling to his brain.
His partner Natalie Jones has created a GoFundMe page in the last with a target of £100,000 with £12,425 raised in the first few hours with West Ham chairman David Sullivan donating £5,000 personally.
The page says “I’m Natalie, I’m fundraising to bring my partner Joey home to our 3 young sons after a tragic car accident on holiday.
He has sustained multiple skull fractures, bleeding on his brain and serious swelling of the brain, which has resulted in him currently being in a coma.
I am praying that soon I can bring him home to the UK for continued treatment. He will need to travel via air ambulance with doctors onboard to manage his requirements. We will need continued support when home in the UK.
Our boys are missing him desperately. Joey is our absolute world. He needs to be with his family and friends to support and encourage his recovery.
Asking for help is our only option to get him back the UK and for specialist treatment and rehabilitation to give the boys back the amazing dad they know, love, need and are missing everyday.
The boys don’t know what has happened as they are to young to understand and process and don’t understand why they cant talk to their daddy everyday. Im also away from them while im with Joey terrified for what the future holds for us.
This is everyone’s worst nightmare and his condition is very unpredictable. Please help in anyway you can.
Natalie Joey and Boys x”
