West Ham could retain Betway as a major sponsor despite being forced to ditch them a front of shirt sponsor at the end of the current shirt sponsorship deal at the end of the 2024/2025 season.
While the Premier League is voluntarily phasing out front of shirt sponsorship by gambling companies over the next three years, sleeve sponsorship will continue to be allowed to be sold to gambling firms.
The price firms will pay to get sleeve sponsorship deals is likely to rocket to make up for the short fall and Betway will in prime spot to grab the Hammers sleeve deal when the current deal with Scope Markets expires.
West Ham can also continue to sell pitch side advertising and stadium sponsorship including possibly the naming rights to the London Stadium to gambling companies including Betway should they wish even after the Premier League voluntarily ban and government white paper on gambling is published.
The Hammers currently receive a reported £10m per year from Betway but they could continue to receive in excess of that amount from the online bookies while selling their front of shirt sponsorship to a non gambling sponsor.
