Burt says the battle for midfielder intensifies as Manchester City formally made a bid worth an initial £80 million plus a further £10 million in add-ons.
Less than twelve hours ago David Ornstein writing for the Athletic broke the news claiming ” Premier League champions have now made a formal offer of an initial £80million with an extra £10m in add-ons in hope of beating Arsenal to his signature this summer.”
As reported yesterday West Ham want at least £110m in a transfer fee and a further £10m in add-ons so this latest report is £30m under that target.
Without confirming a a formal bid was received by City a club insider confirmed ‘We laugh at such low offers’
Arsenal are expected to follow with a third bid totalling £100m and Manchester City are highly likely to made a second bid also totalling £100m.
