Wolves (A) – Preview, Predictions, Injury News & More

This game falls very much in to the must-win category! We have maintained seventh position despite taking 3 points out of the last 12, and we can no longer rely on other teams to keep dropping points too. The pack are chasing us down and if they all won their games in hand we would be 11th.

We have Chelsea (A), Liverpool and City (A) as three of our last four games, so NOW is the time to start getting wins if we are going to have any chance of Europe through the league. I would go as far as to say that a loss today, OR against Fulham next week, and we can pretty much forget it.

Injury & Squad News

Pedro Neto and Jean Bellegarde are ruled out and Gary O’Neil will be sweating over late fitness tests on Ballon D’awson and Hee-Chan Hwang.

West Ham:
Alvarez is back from his Premier League suspension (although he’s ruled out again at Leverkusen), Aguerd may be back in the squad for this one, but Areola will be out.

Premier Form

Wolves: W-W-L-W-L-D
Wolves drew away to Burnley last time out but lost their two previous games at Villa (0-2) and at home to Coventry (2-3) in the FA Cup Quarter Finals.

West Ham: W-W-D-D-L-D
West Ham are now four games without a win in the Premier and drew at home to Spurs in midweek.

Previous 6 EPL Meetings At Wolves

Oct 10: Wolves 1 West Ham 1

What Results Do For West Ham

Win: A win would cement 7th place, a win by four goals and we go sixth. Sixth is also a possibility if United lose to Liverpool on Sunday – a four goal swing in our favour over both games would do it.
Draw: A draw would mean we stay in the top half of the table after the weekend. Newcastle (away to Fulham), Brighton (home to Arsenal) and Chelsea (away to Sheff Utd) could all pass us with wins.
Lose:  A loss would see Wolves overtake us and the three mentioned above could also do so. It would be we could drop as low as 11th.
